چکیده

The objective of this investigation was to concentrate betalains, phenolics, and antioxidants from the extract peel flesh beetroot (Beta vulgaris L.). Thin-film composite reverse osmosis (RO) membrane composed thick polyamide barrier layer, microporous polysulfone interlayer, polyester support web used in module. In a later exercise, thermo-instability betalain color compounds investigated with different temperatures. After filtration aqueous flesh, betacyanins, betaxanthins, total betalains were increased by 5.2, 6.1, 5.5 times, respectively. Likewise, mentioned bioactive 3.7, 4.9, 4.2 times after peel. amounts measured final two lower (14.33 ± 0.15 mg·g−1 dm) compared (30.02 0.28 dm). superior amount phenolic shown (34.47 0.19 mg GAE·g−1 (12.74 0.42 antioxidant activity 24.65 1.42 ASE·g−1 dm 11.6 0.1 dm, recovery thermo-sensitive bio-colorants achieved least thermal degradation.

Betalains and phenolics in red beetroot (Beta vulgaris) peel extracts: extraction and characterisation.

The extraction of red beetroot (Beta vulgaris) peel betalains and phenolics was compared with two extraction methods and solvents. The content of total phenolics in the extracts was determined according to a modification of the Folin-Ciocalteu method and expressed as gallic acid equivalents (GAE). The profiles of extracts were analysed by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The compo...

Betalains, phase II enzyme-inducing components from red beetroot (Beta vulgaris L.) extracts.

Crude aqueous and ethanolic extracts of root tissue of red (Rd) and high-pigment (HP) beet (Beta vulgaris L.) strains exhibited antioxidant and phase II enzyme-inducing activities, and these extracts were fractionated using Sephadex LH-20 chromatography. These bioactivities tended to become co-enriched in early and late eluting fractions, comprising 5-25% of the material recovered from the colu...

5,5',6,6'-Tetrahydroxy-3,3'-biindoIyl from Beetroot {Beta vulgaris) Peel Extract

Recently, plant material extracts containing phe nolic compounds have been screened as potential new sources of natural antioxidants. Beet extracts, especially the extracts from the peel, have shown strong antioxidant activity in these evaluations re sulting in increased attention to the natural pro ducts present in beetroot (Vinson et al., 1998; Kähkönen et al., 1999). As part of our ongoin...

Effect of Organoclay on the Performance of Reverse Osmosis Membrane

This study investigated the effect of Cloisite15A (C15A) organoclay in the substrate layer on the performance of reverse osmosis (RO) membranes. The substrate of the RO membranes was modified using different loading of C15A (ranging from 0.3 - 0.7 wt%) within polysulfone (PSf) substrate and the polyamide (PA) selective layer was formed on the top. Effect of the modified substrate layer on the w...
